TURIN/MADRID (SW) - Juventus were held to a scoreless result by BATE Borisov but remain in first place in Group H, while Real Madrid recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg.
Juventus failed to leave an impression against BATE Borisov of Belarus and the two sides held each other to a goalless draw.
BATE had already held Juventus to a 2-2 stalemate in Belarus two months ago, and while their European adventure is over, they will at least have these two draws to be proud of.
Real Madrid were more successful against UEFA Cup holders Zenit St Petersburg with striker Raul scoring the opener after 25 minutes and Arjen Robben's lob over the keeper doubled the advantage shortly after the break.
And Juande Ramos' debut as Madrid manager would soon see another spectacular goal. Raul received the ball from Robben and his following lob left the keeper stranded.
Juventus and Real Madrid have the same amount of points, but Juventus hold the better head to head record.
