AVEIRO, Jun 1 (SW) - Ukraine have joined the Netherlands in the final of the UEFA U-21 Championship, beating Serbia & Montenegro 5-4 on penalties.
The two sides failed to score in regular and extra time, and needed a penalty shoot-out to decide who would move on to the final.
Ukraine missed the opening penalty, but the Serbs failed to take advantage and after one spotkick each, the score was still 0-0.
Both Ukraine and Serbia & Montenegro then scored there next four penalties, albeit with a bit of luck in some cases.
The Ukranians also netted their sixth, but Purovic then missed his for the Serbs and allowed their opponents to advance to the final, which is scheduled for Sunday.
